The exceptionally high standard set by HG Motorsports is rooted deep in its racing history and continues to thrive through the Heinz Gietz family’s legacy. In October 1969, Heinz & Ilse Gietz founded the Mercedes-Benz Service Center in the heart of La Jolla, California. Three generations later, the business continues to soar and has grown to new heights with the introduction of the motor sports sector.
The racing legacy of HG Motorsports started three generations ago as Mr. Gietz established himself as the lead race tech for Pabst Racing and continuing on as a close personal friend of the Pabst Blue Ribbon heir, Oggie Pabst. Presently, grandson of Heinz Gietz and founder of HG Motorsports, Dieter Heinz, started road racing back in 2004 and has not stopped since. Dieter now owner and operator of Heinz Gietz Autohaus Mercedes-Benz of La Jolla has years of experience in the luxury vehicle business. Customer service, satisfaction, and experience are traits that Dieter has under his belt.
Through racing, Dieter’s roads crossed with Chris Frick. No stranger to the racing and aftermarket performance world, Chris had been wrenching on race cars from the age of 17. Driven by pure passion for cars, Chris found himself drawn to the race track every other weekend, where he met Dieter Heinz. On meeting, the both have continued to race together and strive to be the best. From combined years of experience in the racing world, they have tested every performance part under the sun. After rigorous testing on the race track , they were left with only the best.
Their experience is now passed on to their customers. Providing the BEST quality parts and service ONLY.
