I know there are a few of you out there that want the flex fuel bluetooth app for Apple iPhone. We thought we should formally give an update as to where it currently stands. As you may know, Apple is a very difficult company to work with.
Here is the bad news, we are still about 6 months out on releasing an application. We have applied to be an Apple authorized vendor so we can purchase the proper Apple Authentication chips, which is a six month process every time we apply. So when we get approval, we then can order the proper chips and start developing further, but because we are developing we have not purchased enough chips to maintain our account. So then we need to re-apply, which is another 6 month process. We've contacted Apple about this and after months of unresponsive voicemails and emails we gave up and have decided to rebuild our electronics hardware from the ground up.
The good news is, we have finalized the new board (which we started about 6 months ago) and are now finalizing the firmware to be compatible with Apple iPhone and iPad. For those of you who have been patiently waiting we will be offering a free upgrade to the new Mark 1 hardware, for those of you who purchased the Apple iPhone version of the hardware.
We do appreciate your patience and hope this explains a bit more of the processes we have been through with Apple and creating a compatible solution for the foreseeable future.
Regards,
William Knose
