The 2004 Ferrari Modena reflash focuses on improving drivability of the vehicle, by changing the throttle mapping to allow for smooth acceleration at any throttle position, in any gear, at any RPM. This is one of the hallmarks of a tune from William Knose and as Knose states, “think of a professional race car driver, in a heated competition on the track, the last thing that a driver needs to worry about are hiccups or stutters in the map, delays, lag, unresponsiveness, erratic or uncharacteristic throttle control, inconsistent power, unreliable torque, etc…”
It is that experience that has allowed Delicious Tuning to develop maps that make you want to drive harder and longer. With the tune, the focus was power and torque, but also to improve the linear power curve and throttle control. One of the best aspects of the tune we did not even expect, was a dramatic improvement in fuel economy. According to our customer, his MPG improved by nearly 35% over his original tune. Though we did see the OEM configuration in the ECU tables to be fairly rich (and did tune them appropriately to a better air/fuel ration), we did not expect such an improvement. We were pleasantly pleased with the results and so was the driver.
